ICSA leverages the raw data of our growing client practice, mapping out client experiences. We cross-refer with sector practice methods to develop pragmatic solutions. Our training is informed by the trend and theoretical insights, adding a layer of empirical expertise to our repertoire
ICSA trainers all have expertise and professional practice through a diverse range of vicarious lived experiences. Our trainers use their professional practice to deliver relatable and authentic experiences.
ICSA training is developed and delivered by people with their own lived experience. The expertise from personal lived experience is layered by living within the very communities we serve. Our training integrates these unique insights and practical knowledge to offer the benefits of guidance that is rooted in genuine understanding and authentic experience.
ICSA is actively involved with the community, to ensure that training is developed to be genuinely informed. The opportunity to learn personal experiences directly outside the framework of being a client is a form of research. Our training continually builds through these experiences growing our knowledge directly to fundamentally understand diverse perspectives and emerging issues.
At ICSA, we build expertise and knowledge through direct engagement, as we gain a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives, emerging issues, and ensure our training remains relevant and genuinely informed. From 2015 to 2017, ICSA facilitated support groups for women in Western Sydney. These sessions offered a safe, informal space where women could openly share their experiences with domestic violence and dowry abuse. Unlike traditional client settings, these groups allowed for honest, raw conversations, providing rare insights into personal experiences that are often hidden. By listening and learning directly from the community, we continue to shape our approach with authenticity, empathy, and real-world relevance.
For ICSA training is an underlying aspect of all group work. Through groups we gain more detailed knowledge of the sub layers of community and underlying and under the radar issues. This way we can incorporate contemporary understanding of the community into our training practice.
ICSA’s training is informed by Individual client advocacy [Walking with clients]. The expertise gained through advocacy is deepened to fundamentally understand client needs and barriers. Our training includes such authentic and genuine experiences to demonstrate key issues.
Our training is mindful of the first-hand experience of clients' both in Australia and in countries of origin. It includes maintaining connections with systems and policies of the dual countries which impact here in Australia. This expertise significantly builds our capacity and skills in supporting clients holistically. Our training encourages greater networking to keep up to date with the changes that affect our practice.
ICSA training is developed to build capacity in grassroots organisation. The quid pro quo is we too gain valuable knowledge and can leverage collaborative advocacy. The collaborative knowledge feeds into our training products providing another dimension of the authentic experience.
ICSA trainers are in the majority bi-lingual, including NAATI professionals. This bilingual practice allows ‘fly on the wall’ experiences to give unique observation at the frontline with a diverse range of agencies. This wide spectrum of client/provider experiences provides valuable insight of the intersections, barriers and gaps. ICSA cultivates this valuable commodity to develop quality training.
ICSA trainers are qualified in their relevant fields. Our content is developed and overseen by TAE accredited trainers with key subject matter experts.
ICSA’s position on multiple forums, committees etc allows for a bigger picture understanding of what impacts the consumer either in the private or public sector. Our training draws in the need to be mindful of the aspects that impact the workers and clients that are outside of our control.
